• 10 tips to make easy all-purpose dough

Easy Bread Dough Included with this recipe is my Top 10 tips for all-purpose easy bread dough. Okay for those who feel that baking bread is difficult, I am not going to tell you it isn’t, especially if you don’t have a countertop mixer.  I have been on the hunt for a ‘perfect’ recipe and I think I have found one.  The only downfall is that; you should have the optimal weather for that perfect loaf.  Even if the weather is not perfect, it is still a wonderful tasting bread, just may be a little off shape and color. Today’s post talks about several days of making bread, I did not add…

  • Hotel, Motel or Airbnb???

Part of our trip we will be just staying overnight, so an Airbnb is really not feasible.  Hotel or motel whatever you call them is the way we are going. When we stay at a hotel, we always make sure that it has a large breakfast.  My husband’s stipulation is that it has to have a waffle station.  I know, silly right?  But think about it.  Breakfast usually runs us upwards of $30 plus tip.  If we stay at a hotel that offers more than cereal and bagels, we get a great start to our day, and they usually have pretty decent coffee. So, then I looked at the promotional codes…

  • Two Week Road Trip

May means showers, mowing the lawn, outside chores and spring cleaning.  However, it also means graduations.  We have two nieces graduating with the Class of 2018. Our nieces graduating by itself is great and wonderful.  With one in Oklahoma and one in Georgia, it is going to be a 2799 mile roundtrip.  This means that we are in the car for 14 days.  Yes, you read that right, 14 days. We have a Kia Optima and my husband is 6’2″ and we will be taking two dogs, and our daughter N.  Our oldest will join us in Georgia with his girlfriend and join in the festivities. Congratulations to all the graduating…

  • Cleaning the Living Room or Any Room, With Disabilities

When one has chronic illness, cleaning is not always easy.  No longer can we jump right up and expect to have the entire house clean in one morning or afternoon.   One has to plan to take breaks, and one of the most important things I have realized is that I have to give myself grace.  It too the entire day to clean just my living room.  Yes, you read that right, just my living room.   You want to know what the sad part is?  I really did not even get to do everything I wanted to do in that room.  I didn’t get the fan, baseboards, pictures or the…

  • P-Mails– Better than e-mail!

I have been doing a lot of soul searching lately and feel that God has led me to share some of the things I am learning from my studies about a deeper relationship with Him.  When I heard about this concept, a personal relationship with God, a few months ago, I was completely ready to find out more about this. I have prayed since I was a younger child, and gave my life to Christ, but it seemed that I would send up P-mails (prayer mail) to God and go about my merry way.  I had never heard the idea of having a personal relationship with Him and becoming closer to…

  • Living to be 950 years old!

Today my daughter and I were reading about Noah in Genesis, Noah lived to be 950 years old, can you believe it?   I am not sure that I can even imagine living that long.  But God decided that Noah was the only person on the face of the earth that was worth saving.  One of the things that stood out to my daughter was that the animals in the water were never mentioned until the flood water receded. Interesting… I guess I had never thought of the sea life before, in the story of Noah and the Ark.  Were they saved?  Did the fresh water kill off the salt water…

  • Listen, Love, Repeat

Hi there again, here I am sitting outside on my deck in Southern Maryland in a balmy 60ish degree weather.  I have my sheets hanging on the line and I am sitting underneath my gazebo that my husband put a new roof on.  I thank God every day for my wonderful and amazing hubby. This week I am starting a new Bible Study online over at Proverbs 31.  The book is called Listen, Love, Repeat and it was written by Karen Ehman. The Bible study has a Book, a Study Guide and videos that come with it (they are separate purchases), I ordered the book as a Kindle book and a…

  • The Magnolia Story

“The Magnolia Story” an autobiography, about Chip and Joanna Gaines, from Fixer Upper on HGTV, is a book that tells the story of their humble beginnings.  Fixer Upper, which broadcasts on the HGTV channel, is a wonderful show, and finding out more about them is a wonderful treat. I chose to listen to audio books while doing chores, driving and waiting on the doctor.  I was pleasantly surprised that Chip and Joanna read their story themselves.  It was a wonderful to hear them tell their story and the inflections on their own words. There are many people who read audiobooks and have a real knack for it.  But there are…
